We were able to go hear the Guam Symphony play a free concert for children on morning. It was held in the ballroom of a fancy hotel. There were four cellos, all of varying skill.
And a good number of violins. The Asian girl on the far right is only 12 years old.
She has finished all of the Suzuki books and can play very well. In the summer time she practices almost all day. She was friendly and Araya had a good time meeting her after ward.
The neat thing about this orchestra is that they take people of all skill levels. The viola and one of the cellos were likely only in book 2. The conductor is obviously doing a very good job with the group of available musicians, as there aren't that many in a place like Guam.
I sang in the Guam Chorale the two years I was there~loved it!!
