Resting

Bantum chicks, just a few days old. Resting. We have chicks at our house now; dream come true for my animal loving son.  These little Bantum chicks were my favorite, and they really seemed to like me too.  As often as possible, I'd get them from the mudroom shower stall that we had converted into a chick nursery, snuggle them up close to my warm, and the tiny balls of fluff would fall asleep in my hands safe and secure.  I'm not really their mama, but I loved to be a mama to them, even if for a few moments.  I enjoyed watching them trust me, fear of being caught abating, when they realized that I was warm and gentle. And have you ever thought about how much God enjoys it when we trust him, and enjoy his gentle care and love for us?  Can you settle down in the palm of his hand, rest your head on the one nearest, and fall asleep, trusting him to take care of all the details that need attended to?
