A Wildflower Morning

Once again, I was blessed to be at Agat church this Sabbath.  There were more friends there that I haven't seen since I was on the island three years ago.  I really love that this church is embracing the children and including them in so much, including giving them microphones to sing into during school service.  When it was discovered that there wasn't anyone scheduled to tell the children's story, one person stood up and said, "I can do it."  Then they walked up front and told how their friend had lost their watch at the park and couldn't find it.  The storyteller volunteered to help search for it, but it wasn't found.  Later on, the storyteller went back to look again, and there it was, laying in the grass near some trees.  It wasn't easy to see in the grass, but somehow her eyes fell right on it.  She believes that God answered her prayers to find the watch. Yesterday I tutored in the morning, as planned.  The thing that did not go as planned, was that when it was time for my students to spell words that follow the rule we are learning this lesson, by typing on the screen I was sharing from my computer, some of the letters they typed came out as different letters.  I started keeping track of what was happening.  If they typed a "n", it showed up as "l".  If they typed an "l", it showed up as a "p", and "c" was "i".  How frustrating for a student who was trying to spell correctly but it came out as something they didn't want. Some letters were ok, but there were 8 that were wrong.  So any time the student wanted one of those letters, they would have to ask me to type it.  All the letters came out correct when I typed them.  Very strange and very frustrating.  My students are trying so hard to overcome issues with reading and spelling, I don't want technology issues to get...

 Sit back and watch the waves for a while.  Listen as they break on the reef, and then wash to the shore. Jump right into the 82 degree water if you wish. It's a beautiful day.  

See Robin up there on the rock?  I wonder what she can see? One of my favorite places on the east side of the island of Guam is Inarajan Pools.  This area has a rich history with the Spanish and WWII, and some notable people have lived in this area.  Read more about it here .  The natural pools are protected by a limestone breakwater.  Tropical fish swim in the clear, shallow waters, making it a fun place for snorkelling.  A gentle current flows in, keeping the pools clean, and entertaining boys like a water slide There are pavilions available for shade and picnics.  Long ago someone put in a diving platform, but its use doesn't seem very advisable now, as the ladder is half missing, and does anyone know if the water is deep enough in this place for diving? The view from the big rock on the right gives you a good look at the pools, and at the ocean surf.  One thing to note, there was a rest room on site, but it was locked....
