A Wildflower Morning

We are a day ahead of you, and six hours behind you.  So when you are still slogging through Friday, we are already enjoying Saturday. This Saturday we got to go to Agat Church, it is the one we have attended in the past.  So I was excited to go back and connect with friends.  I have to say that I really enjoyed being there.  It felt like I was at my other home. Kids still help with the song service.  Several were holding their own microphone and you could hear their sweet voices loud and clear. My friend Amy gave a health talk and told about lice and an inexpensive way to get rid of them, based on her own experience with lice.  If you want to know what to do, next time you get lice, just drop me a line.  All you need is a cheap bottle of hair conditioner and a lice comb.  She also translated for the Chukeese.  And a large group of Chukeese sang the special music. I woke up at 3:30 this morning.  It is amazing how much a person can get done before the sun comes up.  I got my blog going again and wrote three posts.  Actually I was still working on that and organizing photos after Rob left for work at AWR.  It was a great stay home and get settled in my house day.  And yes, it was Friday. One of the nicest things about my Guam home is that it comes with orchids.  They are growing outside on palm trees right beside the driveway and behind the house.  I am so excited that for a small part of my life, I have my own orchids that are thriving outside watered by the rain, and getting enough light, right from the sun. Plumeria also grow in my yard.  I found a cluster that and fallen to the ground and brought it in to bloom on my table.  Slowly the flowers have been opening, making my house smell so nice.  It is interesting to note that Plumeria often blooms with very ...

My second morning I slept until 3:30 AM, which is 6:30 AM, the day before in the Pacific time zone.  My mind was awake and ready to do something, but alas it was still dark outside.  So I spent some time getting started on blogging again.  It seems I mainly blog when I'm on epic trips.  How else will I remember what I did when I get older, and how else will I pass on my legacy to my descendants.  So I write.  I won't write every day, but I hope it will give you a window into some of the beauties of the tropical island of Guam, and the important things in my life. This morning after the sun came up, I opened the front door to let some of the morning into the house.  Rain poured from the sky for a while, that lovely tropical downpour I learned to love when I taught 3rd grade on Pohnpei, Micronesia, back in the late 80's.  I considered going out for a walk in it, and getting soaked to the skin, but I wasn't hot.  I'm sure there will be a ...
