Squeeling brakes. Sliding tires. Bang . . . BANG!
That's what we heard one Friday afternoon, while we were cleaning up our house for Sabbath.
Kids were dispatched to investigate, and came back with the report that a pickup had hit the fire hydrant down at the corner, and now water was shooting up into the air like a geyser.
Yep. It sure was. And water was starting to flow down the street in large quantities.
Rob moved our car away from the flood. Our neighbor moved his truck up onto the lawn.
We didn't know how long it would be before they could get the water shut off. And we didn't know how many more accidents the water would cause, because water makes coral cement roads very slippery.
The drain in the road was quickly overwhelmed, and soon there was water clear across the road, filling a ditch on the edge of the cemetery.
They did eventually get the water shut off, and they didn't shut off the water to the house at the same time. And we were able to finish our cleaning, entertained by the events of the afternoon.
Don't have to pay for entertainment on Guam!! lol!
