Here is an assortment of views from around Agat, Guam, Starting with the beach directly behind where the farmer's market meets on Tuesdays.
There is a picnic area, patches of shade, and lots of flowers.
Bougainvillea in two different colorways.
Pink tinted Plumaria
Purple orchids growing on the trunk of a coconut palm.
Bromolaids.
At this point, cross the little creek and you end up at the back side of Ga'an point, National Historic Park.
In July 1944 this was not a safe place to be, as would have been Japanese bullets flying thick as any American approached. See all the dings in the side of the cement bunker? The resistant must have been intense.
The front side of the bunker is not smooth, and that is not because of age. These bunkers were made to withstand the worst. You can tell it did get hit with America's best efforts, and it did stand, to this day it is strong, even though the soldiers are long gone.
What beautiful photos of a beautiful place to be! I'm loving all your posts.
