A Wildflower Morning

Sunday, February 3, 2013, looked great and everyone was geared up for a hike to Tarzan Falls Waterhole for a splash and a swim. The trail head is at the highest point of the cross island road.  Jeep trails snake around in all directions from this point.  Choose your favorite, and try not to get lost.  The red dirt is very red, pretty, but it stains. At some point the "trail" branches,  the one to the left goes to the falls.  We took the one to the right, headed towards the waterhole. We broke out of the jungle and started walking down the river.  Interesting pot holes, many with the rock that rounded them still there.  The pool was very jungle like with pandanas plants and vines nearby. Everyone quickly got in for a swim, and then started checking things out.  The rope swing was a big hit.  Nathan takes a try at it.  Caleb gives it a go.  Tarzan. Splash! ...

Join us on a Sabbath afternoon walk to Shark's Pit/Blue Hole, on the north west side of Guam.  The Krums were our tour guides, and the Froelichs were with us. Right at the beginning of the beach walk, there are some rocks out in the water with interesting formations. The sky was beautiful and the water full of color. In some places you had to wade out in the water around rocky points, or climb over the jagged rocks.  There is no way you would want to fall on this stuff. Thankfully, no one did fall, and my first aid cream and band aids stayed tucked away in my pouch. The pretty beaches called us on. The kids searched for shells, and hermit crabs. This guy seemed to be looking for a new shell too. At the end of the walk the waves were bigger, and the sky more exciting.  It rained for a little while, and I grabbed big leaves to umbrella my camera.
