To find out more about what happened in my kitchen on Sunday, pop over to my daughter's blog and read the story about the "Faulty Connection". Our kitchen stove caught fire, but our house didn't. God got my husband home in time to take care of it. If Grandma had been the only one home, things would have turned out differently. We are thankful for God's grace and protective care. There is only a tiny lingering odor left in the kitchen and it's perfect weather for cooking and eating on the deck. It really is a miracle.

Ohhhhhhhhhh, I'm so glad the fire wasn't worse (just read your daughter's account of the story). My stove/oven is exactly the same as yours. I have noticed that the top of the oven door has "melted" a bit from the oven cleaning cycle. Something just isn't right. Were you cleaning your oven or had something else malfunctioned and it turned on when it wasn't supposed to? It makes me think twice about the cleaning cycle.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the water worked! Would baking soda have done the trick as well? Or was the fire too deep inside to reach?
Glad all turned out fine --- except for a needed new oven and a new paint job!

Oh my friend!!! I would say there is some testing of character going on in our lives! So grateful for your safety, and that the roof still stands over your heads.
